Following a brief theatrical run in Los Angeles, Life in Fog was eligible to be nominated for the Academy Awards (best short documentary) in 2001.

As part of a special event for the 15th annual meeting of the Iranian Medical Association in Washington, D.C., held over the Memorial Day Weekend, Life in Fog was screened along with two other short films. Producer Bahman Maghsoudlou answered questions after the screening.

The film was also screened on June 4, 2008 at the first Sinfronteras Festival International de Cine in Medellin, Colombia. The purpose of the festival is to shine a light on a different social subject each year. The first year’s topic was the depiction of children in the movies, to which Life in Fog was ideally suited. Producer Bahman Maghsoudlou gave an overview of the widespread use of children in Iranian cinema.

Life in Fog is now available on DVD from Pathfinder Pictures. It appears as a special feature on the same DVD with IFVC production Ahmad Mahmoud: A Noble Novelist. It can be ordered from Amazon, Netflix, direct from IFVC.com or at any of your finer video outlets.
